At last I have been able to make a start on the first portrait panel. This work will continue to grow and by the end of next week there should be a noticeable change in the old Post Office windows. Hopefully the weather will remain fine enough to allow for more painting expeditions. Don’t forget to keep an eye out for new installments next time you’re passing.

Some of the people I met on the first day of the project.
Location: Jull Street Mall, outside the Post Office on 21st July.

nice to see some faces. look forward to more!
I really like this style, too. are you going to work into it more, or are you going to leave it with this underpainting-style quality?

Yes, I am thinking of leaving it understated if thats what you mean, but need to see how that works out first.

Was wondering if the portraits will have titles with references to the depicted people in order to establish that link to “people of significance”?
By the way the ever evolving flow of the project is very enticing!

Yes I am hoping to do that, but only if the people concerned have agreed to having their names on the net.

Thanks Jen and Mel for participating in the project. I hope you take the opportunity of watching the work develop over the next few weeks. It is now on view as an in-progress painting in windows of the Old Post Office.
