Since the processing of video and photos are now temporary, (I hope), out of the question – I decided it was high time I broke out the field recorder to do a voice recording of one of our local historians.  Kim did a fabulous job of bringing the Armadale history to life through his stories.  Unfortunately, on returning home I found the tape blank.  This time however, the malfunction was not with the equipment, but the old gray matter.

Time to take refuge in painting, again.

Sorry if you are noticing the lack of activity at the post office these days. In order to meet the deadline for the upcoming exhibition  I need to put a concentrated effort into the painting side of the project.  For this I need the peace and quite of my home studio (albeit a little cramped in comparison), but it does provide little or no interruption.

I know its a bit messy but it works for me.

At last I have been able to make a start on the first portrait panel. This work will continue to grow and by the end of next week there should be a noticeable change in the old Post Office windows. Hopefully the weather will remain fine enough to allow for more painting expeditions. Don’t forget to keep an eye out for new installments next time you’re passing.

Some of the people I met on the first day of the project.
Location: Jull Street Mall, outside the Post Office on 21st July.
