The story board has created a lot of interest and comments.

It will have to be washed off the wall at the end of the exhibition.

Clarissa thinks St Matthews has an important standing in Armadale, not only does the building have heritage value but it represents a higher level of being.  Although Clarissa is not religious she welcomes a reminder of that ideal which the church gives in its physical presence.  She also believes that in providing spiritual and ceremonial functions St Matthew’s plays an important role for the people of Armadale.

The storyboard has changed quite considerably since the last time it was posted.  You can check it out by clicking this link and then scan down the page. When you have finished you can return by clicking home at the top of the page

Detail of storyboard showing the start of the project.

The morning was spent with James Bryans, who is making limited edition fine art prints from my visual diary. This is a first for me, and an exiting move.  The afternoon was spent with local historian, Kim Fletcher who has kindly agreed to commit stories from his childhood to tape.  This will eventually be used as a sound scape for the exhibition.

I even managed to get back to the studio and work on the storyboard before the day was over.

All the areas I visited during the painting expeditions are now included on the map, with mapping pins showing their locations.  When the storyboard is completed the map and the storyboard will be connected.

The Storyboard Wall is well on the way to completion.

I have begun painting a map for the storyboard to show the location of each story.

Friday was a fairly quiet day which enabled me to work on the storyboard. The Armadale Project is in its final stages with time for only five more excursions.  Two of these sites have already been visited but the paintings need to be completed on the traveling canvas and the storyboard updated.  The last three sites will be visited next week and the stories posted in the near future.

The last of the stories are soon to be recorded on the storyboard.
