Having arrived at the Minnawarra Historical Precinct, I sat for a while, enjoying a moment in the warmth of the sun and casting my mind back to the reason I was here. It was in response to a conversation with an old couple. They said they loved to come here, it was a peaceful place where they often came to sit in the park. When they spoke of Minnawarra Chapel, they got quite animated; asking me if I knew it had been rebuilt from rubble. So I came and I enjoyed the peace they talked about and I painted the Chapel in acknowledgment of those that had worked so hard to save it.

Painting The Congregational Church, (Minnawarra Chapel)

The painting gets rehung in the window after each outing
(excuse the window frame and reflections)

The Manse was built in 1907 by the Armadale Congregational Church as a pastor’s house (or manse). This remains in its original site and is now used as a restaurant.
