I met Michael when I was painting the library which he loves to visit regularly. He was very enthusiastic about the painting and couldn’t wait to bring his mum and sisters to see it. It was also very nice for me to catch up with Micahel again.
Michael came with his mum and sisters to look at his portrait today.

Bert and Millie

Bert and Millie came in today and it was lovely to see them again. They were so exited about seeing their portrait and spent a long time looking at all the documentation stuff in the back rooms.

Quite a mixture of people are coming through, some of the people today included: school kids; Derek (one of the participants of the project) who brought his wife in to see his portrait; some visitors from Bunbury who had come to visit Armadale for the day; a young man on his way to a job interview; a family with teenage children; some fellow artists; retirees; students and our member for Armadale, Alannah MacTiernan. It is fantastic to get such a diversity of viewers and see them enjoying the project. It was a particular honour to take Alannah through the gallery and discuss different aspects of the project and the importance of such cultural activities in Armadale.

Gallery hours

The gallery is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays but five people still came through yesterday and three today by special arrangement. I also managed to catch up on some paperwork and painting.
The portrait paintings are now coming together.
(The gallery hours are Wednesday – Sunday 11am – 3pm)

There has been a good response to the exhibition with a regular amount of people coming through and spending quality time browsing around. Inside story has proved particularly popular.

A lot of the visitors that have come to The Armadale Project exhibition opening enjoyed it so much they have they vowed to return later. Even though its only been two days since then some have already done so, bringing friends with them.
